The HomeStar design features include fully fusion welded corners on the the sashes and frames for an air-tight, water-tight, lifetime bond. The interior of the HomeStar is designed with curved millwork to resemble a wood window - without the maintenance of wood. The locking hardware for the HomeStar is a specially designed, French curve locking system which is recessed into the rail of the window for clean, unobstructed views.

What is Low-E

All HomeStar windows are available with Low-E (or Low Emissivity) glass option. Low-E has an invisible, metallic coating that admits the full spectrum of sunlight but blocks radiant heat from escaping. In the winter 70-75% of heat normally escaping is reflected back into the home for energy savings. Low-E also increases the window's inside surface temperature, making the area near the window more comfortable. In the summer 25% of the unwanted heat is reflected back to the outside, helping to block ultraviolet light which would normally fade fabrics and other materials.

Radiance Self Cleaning Glass

Home Guard is proud to offer Radiance Ti, a new self-cleaning and energy-efficient glass product as an option on all HomeStar models. The glass features a thin and durable coating which harnesses ultraviolet energy from the sun to disintegrate dirt particles, which are then smoothly rinsed away by rain or a hose. radiance Ti is unique because it has the added benefit of solar control and can maximize efficiency of heating and air conditioning with its superior insulating capabilities.
